1. Got pass through auditions for POP dinner performance and performend Jasons Mraz's You and I Both.
2. I got into PCG(Police Coast Guard)!
3. 'They' got their just desserts. hehh.

SO all in all, i got the last laugh and congratulations to my fellow friends made in the camp who got what they wanted.

Running Away from the Obvious

It was a mere sad recollection i've been trying to avoid, but as i saw her parents again, i just stood speechless. Its weird to say that although i try to remove all possible attachments to her, i still have a soft spot for her parents. I don't know. thank god theres NS to keep your mind from going insane.

But then again, in camp theres a few people pissing me off, but lets see how that'll turn out yea.
one of them already got what he deserves. haha. evill i know. But its not up to us to punish isn't it?

Weekends gonna be filled with photography sessions so i hope to post some good photos soon!

A Certain Kind of sadness

Al-Fateha to my arwah nenek bedok who just passed away.

It really stabbed me deep that i didn't get a last chance to meet her cos the day that my family went to visit her, i needed to book in.

I don't blame NS though. Its just another responsibility that you have to honour. Lucky i called her that day and got to talk to her. Then, i felt something was wrong but decided to give it a miss and just pray for her health.

Anyway,
During the trip down to the cemetery, suddenly all those memories with her just rolled by. Her cooking i tell you, superb. Every rayer i will ask her to cook for me this special dish. i forgot the name. but still, sedap.

Oh. and she speaks fluent brit english too.

I don't understand why i have to let all these go through my head, but it makes me feel better, cos i remember her in a positive and happy manner.

So all,
no matter how bad someone treats you,
remember them for the good,
cos you never know who would remember you,
when you're dead next.

now back to camp. =|

Getting away from camp to celebrate Hari Raya was really a greeeeat feeling. haha. i think by now most of you would have heard the hari raya song specially made for you!

Heres some pictures from iftar at Darul Makmur Mosque, during the Youth Mass Iftar.
Alhamdulillah, i didn't really missed the feeling of ramadhan as every got the chance to go mosque and spend time with the people there. =)

Before enlistment, i had a chance to jam with the brunei boy and habez. its been wayyy toooo long since we last jammed, so this first was quite rusty. haha. nontheless its absolutely fun i tell you.

After that, buker location was at Vivo, thus to kill time, the threesome plus 2 invited guests went to chill at the open space area. haha. Funny how sparce the area was considering it was a weekend.

Finally, RTYE is done and over with. I'm quite happy with the committee and the outcome of the event though the quality and no. of participants got alot to improve on.

NS has been fun these past 3 weeks. haha. Alot of crazy people you get to meet there. Lets start from my Squad:
The Mummys Boy.
The Silent Whisperer.
The Macam Paham.
The Ultra Fit.
The Cannot-Click-with-the-rest-no-matter-how-hard-he try.
The Mentally Unstable. (serious. got one abnormal dude who acts and looks creepily weird. A scary Mr. Bean if you'd like)
The Joker.
The Pain-Here-Pain-There one. (Some coincide with point no. 1)
The cool one.
The one-you-cannot-click-with.
The get-on-everybodys-nerve-one.

The unclassified are all the fun ones who look out for each other. =). fun.

I STILL don't know why my mindset is still not in NS mode. haha.
every week book in is like going to school/camp. The instructors there are okay la. i still think that my Military Band Years in sec sch are much more worst than this. =|

News of ghost sightings are spreading around, but i'm not that worried. haha. too tired to think of these supernaturals. buat kacau jer. haha. but fun la when you see all those who looked scared like shit when they find long hair on the bed/hear bells on the corridor at night / etc.

Does anyone have any idea who this guy is? He freaking bought me photo for $551 la. hahahaha. crazy stalker.

Anyway, had a really tough reality check on fitness in the late morning. haha. Had a match to play in yishun with the Darul Makmur Boys. I played only 45 mins but was panting like mad can? haha. The afternoon heat was no much help and my boots gave way at the end. the sole was like visible from outside la. New boots please!

The boys as usual, played wonderful football. too bad i was the bad egg in the dozen. I shall vow to keep fit and be more technically apt. but i must say, i was a bit more confident in this match as i tried a few shots on goal. haha. Then again, i'm no Beckham. Fitness training anyone?

Meet with the boys later for outing with fireworks. hopefully can get some nice photography there. Till then, Lotsa Smiles world!

Those final percentage to completion are on pending status cos waiting for the owners to view and request for any final edits.

Wednesdays are Conversational Malay training scheduled at Greenwood Pri sch. yes. The one next to my hs. haha. So far, the kids i've taught are wonderful: WITH the exception of the current class i'm taking.

I've been pushed from one class to another and finally, they gave me a class to handle. this awful lot. haha. okay.. not all were awful. only 95.24% jer. hehh.

but the rest i tell you! Spoilt brats! How can you tell the teacher that you're not interested to learn even b4 the class has started? Another one refuses to share. and another, sulks everytime i teach. i tell you. if its my fault, i'd apologise and learn better teaching methods. BUT COME ON!
if the rest of the class can cooperate and learn something new, why not you, boy?

I'm glad my younger sis is non similar to these monsters. Cos discipline is of utmost importance in the pursuit of knowledge. I think i hear people sayig, "aw.. come on.. they're just kids." If you're the one who said that, you either have not taught before or have no kids of your own. Apologies if it sounded so crude. =)

anyway, Novena Velocity wasn't much of a bag paradise, but higyhlight of the day was how beautiful Masjid Kampung Pasiran Was! its been what.. 8 years since i was there? Last time it was like those concrete kampung mosque, like how those mini masjids in malaysia would look like. Now, its been wonderfully renovated with tranquil tiles and waterfall themed wuduk area! i wanna get one! haha.

Shams is off to NS, and i sure am feel sad. But cheer up ppl. He'll be back. Conference Gang will just hv to hang on for these 2 years. haha.

Finally A Cure: For the morning tummy tumble

Heres an extract i found on the web that i found useful for curing my morning woes. Yet to try. But logical enough. Tell you guys later how it works.

Method of Treatment

1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink four glasses of water each of 160 ml.
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes.
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for two hours.
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink four glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to four glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure main diseases:

1. High Blood Pressure - 30 days
2. Gastric - 10 days
3. Diabetes - 30 days
4. Constipation - 10 days
5. TB - 90 days

Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment for only 3 days in the first week to be followed by daily treatment. This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.

Cousins Outing: A Momentary Relief

Had an outing with the cousins on the maternal side last sunday. Bowling was followed by Movie and Dinner. Lucky thing my Kak Dijah got a booking for 2 lanes at bowling@Marina Sq cos it was damn packed la! haha.

A lot of bowling capers ensued but all in the name of fun.

After that, it was movies at the GV next door. Hawa got $1 off the set popcorn combo cos she's a member of the GV Club. cool huh? go read more about it here.
We watched The Mist. Quite a screwed up movie i would say. It borders on the edge of boredom cos it was draggy and the plot seemed to be way uninspired. But go watch it if you like Stephen King Novels.

Next it was a walk down explanade, proceeding towards Lau Pa Sat for DINNER! haha. wasn't a fan of all those scums touting you to go thier tables. Really unethical. There shd be a law to ban touting at these areas i hope. Anyway, dinner was superb, except for my extra oily cockle fried rice.

A Case of Dire Misunderstanding: Mix-Up.

Funny how things take for a turn. Alot of things that you plan, handle and care so much, but just because of a breakdown in communication, everything dwindles.

Well certainly after reading these few sentences, you can some how guess whats happening at the moment.

Now is the time where i need here presence, and i think its mutual too, but just becuase of that damned outing, everything goes wrong. Haiz. How? How can i convince you that it was a mere friendly outing? that i don't even have anything for her in the first place? How?

Well, if you're reading this, stop being all sad and all down, cos it really is not bringing any of us good. I guess you know that what we need is each other ryte now, but because of that incident, you distance yourself.

Well, you need to understand that i won't do that to you, crazy.

Projects are getting crazier by the semester, and all i want is to complete sch, my bike license and have a relaxing time with her, as planned.

God, i wish this would end.

Its been a long tym since i blogged: A stressful semester

I don't know how i found tym to blog, but i dunnoe where else to rant. There was the laptop problem, den the daddy anger management problem, den theres the activities at the mosque that i can't finish.

I know it all will go through, juz that now, that little bit of inspiration would help alot in finishing my 6 project in a week dateline.

To add to the misery, my left eye is beginning to feel swollen due to the hours on the laptop. To my lecturers who may not know how i'm dealing with stuff outside sch, cut me some slack. I'm on the brink here.

I feel that a burnout is coming soon, but i'm really working hard for that not to happen. cos if it does, den theres a world of opportunity lost.

I feel bad too cos i can't keep her company. i wish i could. i really could. but after projects and work and sch, theres nothing much left in me really.

Lucky for me i have the confgang. haha. crazy people.
I'd keep a little vow to myself, to make up to these people once the horror is over.

Other than that, its go time from now till february.

A tale of Three: Trip to see...

I'm in the mood for text here, hence the detailed entry in this blog where previously, was full of images.

had a buke-ing (breaking of fast) session with the self-claimed cute and lovable one and farah fatin (who happens to be a cousin of a friend who is a cousin of a friend.).

We headed down to geyland serai first to get me a new (pair or set?) of songkok.
got the 3 and a half inch one where it was not too high and not too low. =)

The other duo had spent good money on this very nice dress, can't wait to see if they would "boria" (wear the same thing, the same day) as planned.

Next, it was off to the airport for POEPEYES chicken!

We were quite early i guess, and it was not that crowded... till came to buke time!
luckty we got seats.

heres a short review:
Thier chicken are nice, have this spice-in-your-throat-not-on-your-tongue taste,
large peices and great tsting mash potatoes and coleslaws.
The only bad part of the whole meal was the buttermilk biscuits, which:
1. didn't look like biscuits.
2. Didn't taste like buttermilk.

other than that, i would give it a 7.5/10 rating.

Next, it was trolley time, chauffeured by yours truly. we even had a video of it. enjoy!

With stomaches full, we headed back to the mosque for the much awaited
Y2A meeting where it was fun to see all of them again. The only thing with Y2a meetings is that, if you have a splitting headache, that place is not the place for you to go, as i painfully recall. haha.

Great day. Great food. Great company.
Syukur to the almighty who made it all happen.

Premenstrual syndrome

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) (also called PMT or Premenstrual Tension) is a collection of physical, psychological, and emotional symptoms related to a woman's menstrual cycle. While most women (about 80 to 95 percent) of child-bearing age have some premenstrual symptoms,[1] women with PMS have symptoms of "sufficient severity to interfere with some aspects of life".[2] Further, such symptoms are predictable and occur regularly during the two weeks prior to menses. The symptoms may vanish after the bleeding starts, but may continue even after bleeding has begun. [1] About 14 percent of women between the ages of 20 to 35 become so affected that they must stay home from school or work.[3]

For some women with PMS, the symptoms are so severe that they are considered disabling. This form of PMS has its own psychiatric designation: premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Symptoms

PMS is a collection of symptoms. 150 separate symptoms have been identified.[4] The exact symptoms and how severe they are vary from person to person and from month to month. Most women with premenstrual syndrome experience only a few of the problems. The most common symptoms are: [5] [6] [7]

* Weight gain from premenstrual water retention
* Abdominal bloating
* Breast tenderness
* Stress or anxiety
* Depression
* Crying spells
* Mood swings, irritability or anger
* Appetite changes and food cravings
* Trouble falling asleep (insomnia)
* Joint or muscle pain
* Headache
* Fatigue (medical)
* Acne
* Trouble concentrating
* Social withdrawal
* Body temperature increase
* Worsening of existing skin disorders, and respiratory (eg, allergies, infection) or eye (eg, visual disturbances, conjunctivitis) problems

Treatment

Many treatments have been suggested for PMS, including diet or lifestyle changes, and other supportive means. Medical interventions are primarily concerned with hormonal intervention and use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

* Supportive therapy includes evaluation, reassurance, and informational counseling, and is an important part of therapy in an attempt to help the patient regain control over her life. In addition, aerobic exercise has been found in some studies to be helpful.[2] Some PMS symptoms may be relieved by leading a healthy lifestyle: Reduction of caffeine, sugar, and sodium intake and increase of fiber, and adequate rest and sleep.[10]

* Dietary intervention studies indicate that calcium supplementation (1200 mg/d) may be useful. Also vitamin E (400 IU/d) has shown some effectiveness.[2] A number of other treatments have been suggested, even though there is not convincing research evidence that these treatments work: Vitamin B6, magnesium, manganese and tryptophan.[10]
* SSRIs have become the "initial drug of choice for severe PMS"[2] The drug most widely studied is fluoxetine at doses of 20-60 mg/d. Other drugs include sertraline, paroxetine, clomipramine, fluvoxamine, and nefadozone.[11] These drugs can also be given intermittently, that is when symptoms reappear.
* Hormonal intervention may take many forms:
o Oral contraceptives are commonly given; also the contraceptive patch or the contraceptive ring (vaginal ring) would perform the same function.
o Progesterone support has been used for many years but evidence of its efficacy is inadequate.
o Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists can be useful in severe forms of PMS but have their own set of significant potential side effects.
* Diuretics have been used to handle water retention. Spironolactone has been shown in some studies to be useful.[2]
* Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs; eg ibuprofen) have been used.
* Evening Primrose Oil, which contains gamma-Linolenic acid (GLA), has been advocated but lacks scientific support.

Alternative views

Some medical professionals suggest that PMS might be a socially constructed disorder.[12]

Supporters of PMS's medical validity claim support from the non-disputed status of a more serious but similar problem, Premenstrual dysphoric disorder ("PMDD"). In women with PMDD, studies have shown a correlation between self-reported emotional distress and levels of a serotonin precursor as measured by Positron emission tomography (PET).[13] PMDD also has a consistent treatment record with SSRIs, when compared with placebos. [14]

However, most supporters of PMS as a social construct do not dispute PMDD's medical status. Rather, they believe PMS and PMDD to be unrelated issues, one a product of brain chemistry, the other a product of a hypochondriatic culture. There has not been enough debate between the two views to come to any sound conclusion.[citation needed]

Part of why the validity of the emotional aspects of PMS is being doubted is the lack of scientifically-sound studies on the matter. Many Western studies on PMS (PMS is primarily seen in Western Europe and North America) rely solely on self-reporting, and since Western women are socially conditioned to expect PMS or to at least know of its purported existence, they report their symptoms accordingly.[15]

Another view holds that PMS is too frequently or wrongly diagnosed in many cases. A variety of problems, such as chronic depression, infections, and outbursts of frustration can be mis-diagnosed as PMS if they happen to coincide with the premenstrual period. Often, says this theory, PMS is used as an explanation for outbursts of rage or sadness, even when it is not the primary cause. [16]

Some are of the belief, given the extremely broad range of symptoms with little to no explanation of the cause, that PMS is a mental manifestation. Oftentimes in today's culture many hear PMS referenced as almost an excuse to unfriendly social conduct in women. It is often due to these casual references that many people question its existence[citation needed], especially when such little is known about Pre-menstrual Syndrome and that all current theories appear inconclusive.

P.s to those who may find this offensive, i apologise greatly. This information is due for personal knowledge gain and also for the betterment of improving relations between the opposite genders.

My mind was a little bit screwed. The withdrawal symtoms were clearly there, but i had to sum up what strength i had left to finish this mission. It was a gamble, but what other ways did i had left?

Mission Accomplice: Gajan

Msged gajan, her classmate, to get to know the module timetable for the day. I had a few options:

1pm-3pm
after 6pm

so how?

time: 11oo hrs
Gajan msged me, but i couldnt possibly rush down there now!
The plan was to get flowers at the florist, rush down to the school, and surprise surprise.
simple ryte? NOT!

Especially if you have to dodge fellow office colleagues, muddy pathways and an array of flowers to choose from.

time: 1300hrs

sprinted off from the office, did a little self-reflection and and prayed for the best.
at the florist shop:
Flower guy: Yes, can i help you?
Me: *exasperated* I need a bouquet.
Flower guy: okay. when?
Me: erm.. now.
*Flower guy gave me a very shocked look*
Flower guy: okay... can. So which one you want? U can choose the flower you'd like, and i'd do the wrapping and touch-ups for you.
Me: erm. okay. wait. *Thought to self: there were no orange flowers around!*
Me: Lets go with the Rose.
Flower guy: Okay. Hold on while i get it ready for you.

By this time, i had a bouquet in one hand, ears plugged to the mp3*motivator cum people avoider* and a heart going asthma.

Furthermore, i didn't know what to say to her. My mind was a blank. What would you do in a situation like this? Prayed hard again and did a lot of zikir to calm myself down.

Here are practical ways we can improve and enjoy our Salat as it was
meant to be! Today we have indeed come to treat the Prayer (Salah) as
something insignificant in our lives. Very often we hear our elders say,
“I will start praying when the time comes.” Others, especially the
younger Muslims, do not find much comfort, and joy in their Prayers. Due
to our treatment of Prayer as a burden, our love and passion for the
Prayer has vanished.

Our hearts have become hardened, and we have become a depressed and
defeated people. As a result, many are searching for ‘cures and remedies’
to the distress in our lives, through any means available, but are unable
to find any because they have ignored the greatest medicine - Salah!

If we look deep into our daily lives and diagnose the causes of our
spiritual, social and psychological illnesses, we will realise that
probably something as uplifting, as evolutionary, and empowering as Salah
is missing.... If we, the youth, realize the potential role of Prayer in
changing our lives and as a constant source of hope, we would regret
missing even a single Salah.

The Role of Salah in Changing our Lives

The whole purpose of Salah is to be ever conscious of Allah, the Creator
and Sustainer of all things. Salah is indeed, one of the most
comprehensive forms of Dhikr (Remembrance). No wonder, Allah states in a
Hadith qudsi: “Out of all the ways through which my servant gets closer
to Me, Salah is the dearest to Me.” (Bukhari)

It is unfortunate, therefore, that we do not always take full advantage
of this gift. We may compare the obligatory Salah to bathing five times a
day. If after such frequent bathing, your body still remains dirty, then
we may question the usefulness and efficacy of such bathing. Similarly,
if after regular observance of Prayer your heart remains unmoved and your
morals remain corrupt, we may question the usefulness of your Prayer. If
you enter into Salah and come out of it the same person, then you have
missed something great. How can you improve the quality of your Salah?

Remember, first and foremost, that as soon as you commence your Salah,
Shaytan makes it his duty to fill your mind with anything and everything,
but thoughts of Allah. He tries ceaselessly to disengage your mind and
heart from such remembrance. It is this state of absentmindedness that
destroys the quality of your Prayer.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said: “Allah does not accept
the Prayers of an individual until his heart achieves in it what his body
has achieved.” [Al- Ghazali in Ihya-Uloom ad-Deen] The ability to
concentrate in Prayer may be improved by undertaking adequate
psychological, mental and physical preparation before the prayer and by
utilizing certain techniques during the Prayer.

Ways to Improve Salat

Avoid praying in a state in which you are mentally and physically
fatigued. Keep your mind free of worldly worries, evil thoughts, and
ideas.
Plan what verses/duas you are going to recite.
If you do not understand Arabic, learn the meaning of what you recite
in your Prayer.
Remind yourself that engaging in Prayer offers you an opportunity to
release yourself from the tensions of this world. The Prophet (Pbuh) has
said that in Prayer was placed the comfort of his eyes. Therefore cherish
the opportunity to remove the burdens of this world from your shoulders.
Use your Prayer to remain focused on your mission in life, which is
to bring your entire being to serve only Allah.
Use your Prayer as a source of strength, inspiration and enthusiasm
for your life and activities.
Fulfill all your personal needs before you commence your Prayer, for
e.g.,thirst, hunger and calls of nature.
Pray in a pure physical state. Perform your wudu with care and
perfection. Although the whole earth is a masjid or a place of worship,
choose a place that is clean.
Pray in an environment free of noise and one where there is no
distraction. Adorn yourself with clean and respectable clothes.
Assess your mental readiness for Prayer before its commencement,
during the various postures, after each raka and ultimately at the end.
Pray with humility both in your mental state and in your physical
manner.
Pray with hope and awe.
Remind yourself continually that you are talking to the most
important ‘One’ in your life - your Creator and Sustainer. He is in front
of you. You are facing Him and you are involved in a dialogue with Him.
Commence your Prayer by seeking Allah’s help and protection from the
influences of Shaytan.
Lower your gaze while praying and do not allow the physical
environment to distract you.
On each occasion that you recite the Sifat or attributes of Allah in
Ruku and Sajda, consider how indebted you are and how grateful you should
be to Allah and express your true emotions.
Utilise the occasion of Sajda to make additional dua to Allah. The
Prophet said: “A servant is nearest to his Lord when he is in Sajda, so
increase your supplication when in Sajda.” (Muslim.)
Pray as if it is your last Prayer. The Messenger of Allah said: When
you stand up to pray, perform your prayer as if it were your last...’
(Ahmad)

secondly,
apologies to all that has painstakingly gave me farewell msges, thinking that i was otw to KL.
To tell you the truth, it was part of the ultra uber prank plan for habez birthday.
Got the idea cos i was attached to this Sdn Bhd company, so all seemed kinda fit.

lucky my plan worked.

Attachments getting suckier, but i can't seem to complain with all the perks that i get.... hehhhh..

Selangor trip coming up soon and soooo looking forward to it.

Just when i tought attachment couldn't get more horrible.... The company is zipping me and my partner to KL!!!

Of all places. Why can't you just place me at some Graphics designing company in S'pore?

Well, don't get me wrong, its just that i'm not ready for this and i'd be worked up as hell cos i'd surely miss that she-capuchin of mine.

Lucky they got me on a good flight.

Yeah, and somebnody had to remind me that i had to miss my best friends birthday. sorry beb. will bring back some souveniers for you yeah?

1 more week left in singapore, den the rest of the next 3 months in KL. bummer. =(
